Times 3
Open Studios - 2009

Having recently turned 30, these works explore the number three with a variety of tryptics and triangles, and reflect varying times of days inspired by the varying stages of the sun. The colors of the sky change with respect to the sun although certain colors exist throughout. Some colors appear different when surrounded by others, causing a shift in perspective. Look at the bright blue in the Daybreak tryptic, Now look at the darkest "purple" in the Sunset triangle series. One appears blue, the other purple, and yet they are the same color (really!). So too does our perception transform as time passes and we grow older.

The Arcs of Time installed above were scrap pieces from a carpenter's archway project for a kitchen remodel. Their placement in the space serves as a reminder to look up, to take time, and to enjoy where you are in life.

The mini-mural wall on the right engages the viewer in another game with regard to perspective. Varying distance and vantage points cause different experiences for the viewer.
