MLK Service Day Community Mural, 2012
Medford Boys and Girls Club
Tova Speter and The MEM Project partnered with the JCC Diller Fellows to work with the kids from the Boys and Girls Club to paint two door murals in Medford. One mural is on the doors of the learning center and is inspired by a bookworm, and the other is on the doors of the game room and is inspired by games and music. 32 teens participated in this MLK Service Day event during which they were paired up with one of the kids and worker together to design and paint part of the mural, as well as participate in a series of activities that demonstrated teamwork, communication, and working together. It was painted in just one day by over 50 participants! Many thanks to Jacquelyn, Colleen, and Ada for all of their help!
