Camp Young Judea
This community mural was created by over 450 CYJ campers and staff (in only 4 days!!!) under the direction of artist Tova Speter, with help from assistant artist Becky Price. It celebrates the 80th year of camp and highlights the camp’s newly established core values of: caring and compassion, community and friendship, love of Israel and Jewish identity, confidence and courage, and curiosity and wonder. Campers identified images and colors to represent each value and used stamps to fill in the background and reveal the words. Every camper/staff also got one square within the logo to design with paint markers to highlight their favorite camp memories. From afar you just see the logo, but when you look closely you can see hundreds of personal appreciations of CYJ.
